Feilden+Mawson was commissioned to design a replacement dwelling outside the settlement boundary in Whissonsett, Norfolk. Gaining full planning approval, this bespoke contemporary barn-style property is agriculturally influenced and has been designed to its locality.
Salvaged flintwork from the original dwelling forms a key element of the aesthetic which is portrayed in a “quoin-less” arrangement to gable ends. This is complimented with red facing brickwork, timber cladding accents and zinc roofs throughout. The dwelling sits within a hectare of grassland surrounded by mature trees and vegetation supplemented by a wildlife-thriving pond around which the dwelling nestles.
