Feilden+Mawson was commissioned over three phases to convert a large group of Grade II Listed but redundant agricultural buildings into residential units. These are supported by 2 holiday lets and a swimming pool, management office and landscaping.
The site lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is within flood zones. As a result, careful consultation was required with the Environment Agency to ensure both constraints were dealt with prior to planning. The swimming pool picks up on the structural language of the barns, with a fully glazed courtyard wall allowing easy access outside, while the new homes enjoy views over farms and marshland.
