Feilden+Mawson’s competition-winning design was chosen from 95 other national and international entries. The building will help educate and delight those that visit it, via interactive displays, classrooms, café and exhibition, on the importance of the big issues; i.e water management and climate change.
The client’s vision was to commission and build an outstanding visitor centre for the site at Acle Bridge. A landmark building for the sensitive site which would create a new attraction for the National Park and raise the profile of the area’s special qualities. In addition, the Acle Bridge National Park & Education Centre need for sustainability to be at the heart of the building was a must as this will be the central message being spread to those visiting. The facility will also support yachties and other marina craft users.
