Feilden+Mawson has completed the refurbishment of these 2 Georgian properties within the Portman Estate Conservation Area. The project included the refurbishment of 8 new residential units with a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed apartments, and the creation of a new Mews house in Brunswick Mews. No21 Montagu Street was vertically extended to become part of a new residential unit bridging both townhouses.
The Portman Estate with Feilden+Mawson has a continuing commitment to use sustainable technologies in historic buildings, and the project has seen the installation of a modern and highly efficient communal heating system, as well as solar panels at roof level. The integration of such systems into a Georgian building is the first of its kind for the Portman Estate, and the intention is this project will be monitored as a prototype to help inform the Estate's future strategy on sustainability.
