Feilden+Mawson were commissioned by The Portman Estate to redevelop and refurbish three listed townhouses on Manchester Square and four associated mews properties in a conservation area setting, creating high value boutique office space.
By removing later inappropriate accretions to the rear of the townhouses, opportunities were created to provide more appropriate extensions housing WC's, kitchenettes and service risers, thus conserving the fine interiors of the principal historic rooms. Where new rear extensions were created, these were designed as discreet, sympathetic and minimal additions to act as a complementary foil to the detail of the historic townhouses.
