F+M Tour Litmosyl, Czech Republic

Feilden+Mawson’s Prague partner Pavel Nasadil visited the Czech town of Litomysl with a group of British architects, publicists and significant leaders organised by Peter Murray OBE, to see an example of a successful implementation of contemporary architecture interventions to a historical town, with the guidance of the city architect.

The group were shown around by Litomysl mayor Daniel Brydl and toured the Chateaux acropolis with museums, gardens and churches all renovated and regenerated by renowned architects. During the visit, the role of City Architects was discussed, in the Czech Republic there are over 150 city architects including Litmosyl. City Architects assist town leaders with strategies in urban planning, architectural development and public space regeneration, contributing to the pioneering Architectural landscape of the Czech Republic.

Feilden+Mawson have worked closely with the town of Litmosyl and City Architects, designing a care home in the town of Litmosyl to be started on site next year contributing to Litomysl’s exciting architecture map.

A big thank you to Peter Murray for organising such an inspiring event.
