The research laboratory by Feilden+Mawson sits in a landscape-driven Science Park on the outskirts of Cambridge. The building provides two floors of laboratory accommodation with a full height set back plant loft under the curved roof with expressed giant flue chimneys. The white rendered block with expressed glazed stair contrast to the silver metal rainscreen of the laboratory.
Long term flexibility was a key design objective: capabilities include a variety of laboratory functions, other RCD or office use, multiple occupancy and 100% expansion.
