Working with the artist Gary Breeze, Feilden+Mawson helped realise the design of this memorial to the victims of the Bali bombings. The firm provided specialist architectural advice and led negotiations with English Heritage and Westminster City Council for the memorial, which is on a sensitive site next to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and opposite St James’ Park.
Breeze’s concept consisted of a granite globe carved with 202 uniquely designed doves representing the individual victims who were from 28 countries around the world, and an elegant sweeping wall carved with their names. The work was executed in collaboration with Martin Cook and Feilden+Mawson and unveiled by HRH The Prince of Wales on the 12th October 2006.
